Iowa State men’s basketball coach Greg McDermott met with members of the media earlier today to talk about his team’s upcoming week with games against Northern Iowa and California.

The hot topic among media members was the health status of Iowa State forward LaRon Dendy. Dendy left Friday’s game against Saint Louis early as he appeared to injure the same knee that put him our for the prior two weeks early this season.

McDermott told reporters this afternoon that Dendy will indeed see a doctor about the knee later today.

“We don’t think that it is as severe as last time,” McDermott said. “He just got blocked out and got hit at a weird angle.”

McDermott said that Dendy is questionable for Wednesday’s showdown with Northern Iowa.

McDermott also pointed out that Marquis Gilstrap has been fighting bronchitis while Craig Brackins is “coming down with something.”

“For the most part, we are relatively healthy,” McDermott said. “I hope it stays that way.”
