Paul Clark of CycloneReport.com is reporting a new verbal commitment for the 2010 Iowa State football recruiting class this morning. That’s Frostproof, Fla. defensive back Clifford Morgan.

According to the Rivals.com database, Morgan chose Iowa State over offers from Colorado State and Georgia Southern. Morgan is listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds with a 40 time of 4.6.

Chris’ Take: It appears as if Iowa State’s win over Nebraska on national television just might have paid off. Morgan’s offer list certainly isn’t flashy but that’s pretty typical for this year’s class. This seems to be another case in which Paul Rhoads and his staff is seeking out raw talent and athletic ability that nobody else will take a chance on.

Morgan is the second-known defensive back commitment in this year’s class. Morgan joins California athlete Durrell Givens on that list.
