The rumor mill has been a little bit on the nutty side regarding the Iowa State men’s basketball team as of late. Just ask Iowa State assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger.

Lately, the hot talk on Coach Otz says that he recently interviewed at UCLA.

On Thursday night, Otzelberger confirmed to CycloneFanatic.com that the UCLA rumor is false.

“I never interviewed at UCLA,” Otzelberger said. “My priority is helping Iowa State’s program win basketball games. I owe a lot to Greg (McDermott) and Iowa State. That is where my focus is right now.”

Otzelberger was a member of McDermott’s initial staff that he brought to Ames back in the spring of 2006.
