AMES — Iowa State football coach Paul Rhoads announced Friday that promising safety T.J. Mutcherson has been kicked off the team for violating team rules.

Mutcherson, a sophomore, started 10 games last season. He totaled 76 tackles and had two interceptions. Mutcherson was suspended for the Cyclones’ last two losses of the 2014 season.

ISU also announced that Alex Leslie (TE), Damein Lawry (WR) and Duaron Williams (OL) have left the program and intend to transfer.
