Iowa State beat Baylor 24-10 on homecoming in Ames on Saturday night.

Here are a few notes that I took from the stat sheet.

– Jerome Tiller came in and played well after Austen Arnaud injured his right hand. Tiller ran for 80 yards on 10 carries. He also went 7-for-8 while throwing for 48 yards.

– Austen Arnaud went 18-for-28 for 166 yards and a touchdown. He also threw one interception.

– Marquis Hamilton led the Cyclones in receiving with nine receptions for 97 yards.

– The Cyclones rushed for 240 yards on the night.

– Iowa State had 27 first downs compared to Baylor’s 18.

– Iowa State was 12-for-18 on third-down conversions.

– Iowa State’s defense forced three Baylor turnovers.

– Iowa State dominated the time of possession battle. Cyclones: 36:04, Bears: 23:56.
