Iowa State (19-6, 7-6 Big 12) ended its five-game win streak with the 83-69 loss at BYU (17-8, 6-7 Big 12) Tuesday night.

The first half saw 12 lead changes, but the Cyclones could not come back after a BYU third-quarter burst with the Cougars outscoring the Cyclones 26-10.

Audi Crooks led ISU with 18 points, while Jada Williams added 16. Kenzie Hare scored a season-high 15 points on five 3-pointers.

How it Happened

Arianna Jackson put ISU on the board at 3-2 with an open 3-point shot, while BYU followed going up 9-5. Two more lead changes came before the first media timeout at 4:27, with the Cougars holding the slight 11-10 edge. Hare hit back-to-back 3s to put ISU up 16-13, and the lead flipped twice more to end the quarter as the Cyclones led 21-20.

BYU took the lead as the second began and went up by as much as six (29-23) but Iowa State fought back on an 8-0 run featuring Hare’s third triple to go ahead 31-29. Hare provided another lead change as the half closed sinking her fourth 3, but BYU made the final bucket to enter halftime up 43-42.

The Cougars opened the third jumping out to a double-digit lead and built it up to 20. A three-point play by Crooks ended the third, and Iowa State entered the final frame with a 17-point deficit (69-52).

BYU controlled the lead with the scoreboard at 78-60 at the final media timeout and went on to win it by 14.
