The NFL’s Detroit Lions are expected to hire Iowa State running backs coach Tyler Roehl, according to a report from Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports.

Roehl was in the position in Ames for one season, after he was hired before the start of the 2024 season.

Prior to that, Roehl served as the offensive coordinator at North Dakota State for five years and had been the tight ends & fullbacks coach as well for the five seasons before that.

Roehl helped North Dakota State to three national championship games, with two wins and most recently helped the Cyclones to an 11-3 season and a Pop Tarts Bowl championship.
