AMES, Iowa – The sophomore dynamic duo of Addy Brown and Audi Crooks were recipients of preseason honors from The Athletic.

Crooks was named a Preseason Second-Team All-American while Brown was tabbed the outlet’s Preseason Breakout Player of the Year. Crooks has also earned Preseason All-Big 12 and Preseason AP All-America Honorable Mention accolades ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The Algona, Iowa native averaged 19.2 points and 7.2 rebounds as a true freshman last season while recording the highest usage rate in the Big 12. She broke several Iowa State freshman records including points, made field goals and made free throws in a season. Her 258 made field goals also broke the all-time Cyclone single-season record. 

Brown had one of the most well-rounded seasons in program history as a freshman. The Derby, Kansas native is the only player in program history to record 400 points, 250 rebounds and 150 assists in a season.

She was also one of only two players in a Power 5 conference last season to reach the feat. Also a threat from beyond the arc, Brown cashed in 52 triples while shooting over 38 percent from 3-point range. She earned Big 12 All-Freshman Team accolades following the conclusion of the 2023-24 regular season. 

Iowa State will officially open the regular season Monday morning against Chicago State. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m. in Hilton Coliseum.
