Iowa State will be without two of its starting linebackers in this week’s Cy-Hawk game (2:30 p.m. CBS). Here’s what coach Matt Campbell had to say about each of the questionable players statuses Saturday.

Linebacker Caleb Bacon: Bacon had surgery on Sunday to attend to lower leg injury and will not play in Saturday’s game. There is still a possibility that Bacon can return to the field for the Cyclones before season’s end.

Linebacker Will McLaughlin: Will not play in Saturday’s game, and will take advantage of the bye week coming up to further heal up. Campbell said he expects McLaughlin back sooner rather than later.

Linebacker Cael Brezina: Did not play in Iowa State’s 21-3 win over North Dakota on Saturday, but is expected to be on the field and ready to go against Iowa. He dressed for the season opener, but the staff kept him out of the game to give him more time to heal.

Offensive linemen Jalen Travis & Deylin Hasert: The pair of offensive lineman each sat out of Saturday’s season opener. Campbell said both players practiced Tuesday, but that doesn’t mean either will play Saturday.
