Iowa State linebackers coach Tyson Veidt is expected to take the defensive coordinator role at Cincinnati, according to a report from 247 Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Veidt served as the linebackers coach at Iowa State for eight seasons, filling the role since the start of the Matt Campbell era.

During his time at Iowa State, Veidt oversaw the development of stars at the linebacker spot, such as Joel Lanning, Mike Rose, Willey Harvey and more.

The Logan, Ohio native will head back home to head the Bearcats’ defense in 2024. Cincinnati is slated to visit Jack Trice Stadium in 2024. The Big 12 schedule is expected to be released January 30.
