It’s Draft Day for a pair of Iowa State Cyclones as Ashley Joens and Stephanie Soares are slated to be selected during Monday’s WNBA Draft in New York City (6:00 p.m. ESPN).

Both players are being projected in mock drafts as top 10 overall prospects, as is the case in M.A. Voepel’s final mock draft.

Should they be selected, it will be the first time Iowa State has seen two players drafted in the same year since Chelsea Poppens and Anna Prins were each picked in the second round in 2013.

Iowa State has had just one first round pick among the 14 players drafted to the league in Alison Lacey.

If either Soares or Joens is selected in the first nine picks, they will become the highest picked player in Iowa State history.
