It was only a matter of time before a Twitter fight broke out between a current Big 12 fan base and one of the newcomers.

In response to an amount of tirades on the social media app, The Knights’ official Twitter account posted a picture of a trophy – entertaining thoughts at starting a trophy game with the Cyclones.

The trophy from the photoshopped graphic is the old Civil conFLiCT trophy – which was created in 2013 when both schools were a part of the American Athletic Conference.

It teases an ‘R’ being slotted in and a rivalry game titled ‘The Cornflict.”

This isn’t surprising with the severity of the online word battle.

There were mafia mentions,

accusations of fake tweets,

Cult claims,

And, some self reflection…

It’s quiet for now, but give it 10 minutes and there will be another jab, who knows what’s next?

Hold on, it’s Houston.
