The Big 12 has signed a new media rights deal with existing partners Fox and ESPN worth more than $2 billion running through 2030-31, according to multiple reports on Sunday.
The league’s current rights agreement runs through 2024-25, but the conference entered early discussions with its partners in order to solidify its future after a turbulent summer in college athletics.
Iowa State athletics director Jamie Pollard said on Twitter that the deal will be worth nearly $50 million per year for each school, up from $41 million last year.
The deal still dwarfs in comparison to the nearly $8 billion deal signed by the Big Ten with Fox, CBS, NBC and the Big Ten Network over the summer, but should set the league up well moving into the future with new additions UCF, Cincinnati, BYU and Houston set to join the league next summer.
