Through one round of the Minnesota High School state basketball tournament, both Iowa State signees for the 2022 class are moving on to the next round.

Eli King and Demarion Watson helped their respective teams to semifinal births in the tournament this week.

King led his Caledonia high school squad on Tuesday night, tallying 17 points in the 51-40 win.

Watson’s Totino-Grace Eagles put some points down on Wednesday in their own quarterfinal matchup.

The team took down Hermantown 83-50, while Watson finished with 12 points.

Both of the members in the 2022 recruiting class will try to win another pair of games to join fellow signee Tamin Lipsey as incoming players with a state championship.

Watson and T.G. will play against Mankato East on Thursday at noon for a spot in the state title game. King and Caledonia will face off with Annandale on Friday at 8:00 p.m.
