Pre-KC Bracketology: Cyclones anywhere from 7 to 9 going into Big 12 tourney

With one week remaining before Selection Sunday, Iowa State finds itself across the board in bracketology updates.

The Cyclones (20-11, 7-11 Big 12) go into the Big 12 tournament as the No. 6 seed and are slated anywhere from a 7 to a 9 for the 68-team finale for the year.

Obviously, moving to a No. 7 to let things play out in the No. 2 seed’s pod is a lot more attractive than the 8/9 option.

Here’s where the Cyclones are forecasted to play:

ESPN has the team as a No. 9 seed going up against No. 8 North Carolina in the first round. SBNation’s Blogging the Bracket poses the Cyclones as a No. 8 seed vs. No. 9 Boise State,

CBS and USA Today, however, are a bit higher on Iowa State and each slate the program as a No. 7 seed.

The Big 12 tournament kicks off with the play-in game on Wednesday, but Iowa State will open things up against a Texas Tech team it beat earlier this season.
