We’re in the dog days of the cold months that mark the end of football season and eyes start to turn to March Madness.

Spring football is still weeks away, but Iowa State had an eventful week on the recruiting trail. We recap it for you here:

Sunday, February 6

Iowa State offers 2024 quarterback: The Cyclones extended a scholarship offer to Dante Reno, a 6-foot-2 signal-caller out of Massachusetts.

Having amassed 16 offers so far, with most coming from Power 5 schools, Reno is a standout prospect.

Tuesday, February 8

2023 running back to come on solo visit: Iowa State offered Manny Covey in January, and the 5-foot-11 back will visit with his family this spring.

We caught up with Covey here.

Wednesday, February 9

Visit dates unveiled: Iowa State will host recruiting visits during three different sets of days surrounding spring football.

Oklahoma’s Jalyn Stanford will visit in March.

Thursday, February 10

Iowa State was the first Power 5 to offer a pair of Illinois standouts: Iowa State offered a three-star corner out of Illinois on Thursday night in John Nestor.

He’s the second recruit in the same set of circumstances this week with the school. We caught up with Anthony Birsa about his thoughts on getting the call and his first Power 5 offer here.
