When No. 17 Iowa State faces off with in-state rival Iowa on Thursday night at Hilton Coliseum, it will have a three-star recruit sitting in the stands.

Illinois wing Ty Pence will be taking an official visit to the school during the annual Cy-Hawk basketball game, a source has confirmed to Cyclone Fanatic. The visit was first reported by The Des Moines Register‘s Matthew Bain.

Pence, a 6-foot-6, 195-pound junior from Saint Joseph, Ill., took an unofficial visit to Ames in October after the Cyclones had offered him a couple of weeks prior.

He’s ranked as the No. 5 player in Illinois’ 2023 class and also holds offers from Illinois, Wake Forest, Butler, Bradley and several others.

Thursday night’s game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. CT and can be watched live on ESPN2.
