Brace yourself, Fanatic. You haven’t seen this in a while.

The preseason publication Athlon has picked the Cyclones to finish dead last in the Big 12 for the upcoming 2017-18 basketball season.

If we’re being real, it’s easy to see why a national publication would have a hard time believing in the Cyclones this season. In his third year leading the way, Steve Prohm is faced with the chore of replacing four starers and 82 percent of his scoring from last year.

Athlon’s preseason rankings

1 – Kansas

2 – West Virginia

3 – TCU

4 – Baylor

5 – Texas Tech

6 – Texas

7 – Oklahoma

8 – Kansas State

9 – Oklahoma State

10 – Iowa State
