Iowa State has made the cut for three-star combo guard Darius McNeill‘s top six college choices. The 6-foot-2-inch, 165-pound, Houston native, is set to visit Ames on Sept. 3.

McNeill also included Texas, Florida, UConn, SMU and Cincinnati on his list. He’s rated as the No. 196 prospect in the country, according 247 Composite.
“I know Coach Prohm coached (Cameron Payne) that’s with (Oklahoma City) right now,” McNeill told Cyclone Fanatic two weeks ago. “I hear a lot that he’s big on point guards and that’s what I’ve really locked in on.”
McNeill also held offers from Baylor, LSU and a handful of others before cutting down his list. He has not received scholarship offers from Texas, UConn or Florida as of yet.
He took an unofficial visit to Texas last month and Iowa State was his first scheduled official visit. He’ll officially visit Cincinnati on Sept. 15.
