As we expected, Iowa State basketball commitment Matt Thomas has jumped into ESPN’s top 40 recruits in the class of 2013. After climbing to No. 55 on the latest Scout.com poll, Thomas is No. 31 on ESPN’s latest attempt to rank the best high school seniors in the country.

In addition to Thomas, Iowa State’s other commitment for 2013, point guard Monte Morris is at No. 79 on the list. Morris is ranked No. 77 by Scout.
