Iowa State earns its fourth transfer portal commitment in the 2026 transfer portal cycle in Northwestern forward Tre Singleton.
As a freshman in Evanston, the 6-foot-8 big man averaged 7.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game on splits of 48/17/74.
Singleton joins the Missouri Valley Conference duo of Leon Bond III (Northern Iowa) and Jaquan Johnson (Bradley), along with Taj Manning (Kansas State), as Iowa State’s 2026 transfer portal commitments.
He will be a sophomore with 3 years of eligibility.
Here is Jake Brend’s scout of Singleton:
As a true freshman at Northwestern, he started 31 of 34 games, posting 7.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game on shooting splits of 47/16/73. The 6-foot-8, 215-pounder from Indiana posted 14 and 5 during a November exhibition at Hilton Coliseum. Diving into his KenPom advanced analytics, a pretty good defensive rebounding rate and free throw rate for a freshman in the Big Ten. The shooting clearly isn’t great, but he at least showed an ability to step out and hit a three (9 of 54) and is a capable free-throw shooter. That’s step one for big guys developing into a consistent shooter, even if his upper body mechanics could use some work. His marquee game came against Penn State, where he had a monster 17-point, 18-rebound day. I went back and watched this game and was impressed with his ability to be under control on the fast break at his size. His body control and touch immediately stood out. He’s clearly a physically strong player already, with a lot of room to grow into his frame. That’s an important trait to make up for some of his deficiencies in lateral quickness and his explosiveness vertically.
