I wanted to share the most recent update on the Fanatic: Stories from 20 Years Inside Iowa State hardcover and where things stand right now.
I know many of you were hoping to have the book in hand already, especially with the holidays here. Communication matters, so here’s the most up-to-date information we have directly from the publisher, shared in plain terms.
Color Hardcover Timeline Update
The color hardcover edition requires a specialty printing process. There was a delay in production causing this to take longer than originally expected. The current timeline has the books arriving in early January to your mailboxes.
This is not a shipping issue or a lost order situation. It’s tied specifically to the complexity of producing the full-color hardcover and making sure it’s done correctly. This was completely out of our hands, unfortunately.
If You Purchased the Book as a Gift
If the color hardcover was intended as a gift and you were hoping to wrap it, the publisher has created a printable placeholder sheet you can include now. It lets the recipient know a special book is on the way.

It’s not the same as having the book in hand, but it gives you something tangible to share in the meantime.
A Reminder on Orders and Emails
A few important notes that are worth repeating:
- All book orders are fulfilled and shipped by the publisher, not Cyclone Fanatic.
- Shipping updates and order emails come directly from the publisher.

Please call ahead before going in to purchase a book. We have heard of places running out and we would hate for you to make a pointless trip. We are working on dispersing more inventory for locations running low or who are completely sold out.
