How it Happened
Right out of the first media timeout, Iowa State tied up the game for the third time at 8-8 but the Bears followed with a 7-0 run. Kelsey Joens then stopped the run with a wide-open 3, making it 15-11 with 1:29 left in the first. That score would hold into the second.
Baylor held ISU scoreless for the first two minutes of the frame as the Bears extended a lead of eight. With the score at 21-12, ISU brought things back within four after an Alisa Williams and-1 but BU’s Felder responded with back-to-back 3s preventing the comeback to continue. At the half, Baylor led 33-23.
The home team kept its lead at 10 midway through the third with a score of 41-31. With four minutes on the clock, Baylor opened up its largest lead (46-31) on the Bears’ sixth 3-pointer. That advantage would grow to 19 heading into the final quarter.
