Iowa State earned its second commitment of the day Saturday afternoon when Linn-Mar High School recruit Keaton Roskop announced his commitment to the program.

Roskop, a 6-foot-3 tight end, becomes the third commit of the 2024 class, joining defensive end Jace Gilbert and ATH Danny Inglis, who committed Saturday morning.

“It’s definitely relaxing,” Roskop said of finishing his recruitment process. “Now I can just focus on my high school sports and my relationship with my future team.

Roskop is rated as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports and is currently the highest rated prospect of the class.

He’ll be the latest player in a tight end room led by Taylor Mouser that has seen plentiful success over the years.

“Mouse – he’s energetic,” Roskop said. “He’s energetic and a down-to-earth person. It feels like friendship… I would say (I look up to) any of (the former tight ends). I know they’ve all worked hard to get where they’re at.”

Roskop added that the coaching staff made the difference in earning his commitment.

“I’d say it was the coaching staff,” Roskop said. “The relationship I’ve built with them (feels) like a brother.”

The in-state tight end will take the field once again in the fall at Linn-Mar before arriving in Ames.
