Iowa State isn’t necessarily eyeing 2023 commit Abu Sama as a running back, but he showed on Friday that he can play at the high school level.

The two-way player for the defending state champions helped his Southeast Polk team to a 38-24 win over Dowling Catholic.

Sama finished with 145 yards on 16 carries, scoring four touchdowns for the Rams.

His first carry to the end zone came on an explosive opening play from scrimmage:

Southeast Polk opens the year with a victory and will try for two in a row to start next week against Valley.
