Former Iowa State tight end Chase Allen didn’t make the Chicago Bears 53-man roster for the 2022 season, but will be making plays on the practice squad for the team.

His father, Terry Allen, confirmed the news in a tweet posted Wednesday morning:

Allen had two receptions on two targets during preseason action for the Bears, totaling six yards.

The Nixa, Mo. native had been making plays in practice throughout camp, though, and some reporters projected him to make the 53-man roster.

Nonetheless, the former Iowa State captain in Allen will try and make his name through the practice squad this fall in Chicago.
