Through 15 games, Iowa State holds a 14-1 record that includes a 3-0 start to conference play with a road win over a top 25 Oklahoma team.
It’s landed the Cyclones a spot in the top 10.
Iowa State comes in at No. 9 in the latest AP Women’s Basketball Poll, the highest of the five Big 12 teams in the top 25.
The ranking marks the first time the Cyclones have appeared in the top 10 since March 11, 2002 when they were No. 10 in the final edition of the poll that season. The team had rose as high as No. 4.
Big 12 foes Texas and Baylor appear in the poll at No. 13 and No. 14, respectively, as well as No. 23 Oklahoma – which Iowa State beat last week.
The No. 9 Cyclones will travel to No. 25 Kansas State on Tuesday (6:30 p.m. ESPN+) in a game where the winner will leave with sole possession of first place in the Big 12 standings.
