RECRUITING: Iowa State picks up two commits Fourth of July weekend

Iowa State fans have more than one reason to celebrate on this Independence Day.

The Cyclones landed a commitment from Wisconsin tight end Andrew Keller on Sunday. The three-star prospect considered one of the 25 best tight ends in the 2022 recruiting cycle announced his pledge on Twitter.

Keller, 6-foot-6, 210 pounds, chose Iowa State over Iowa, Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, Texas, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and numerous other Power 5 programs. The Waunakee, Wis. native is considered the No. 493 player in the class and No. 23 tight end.

He visited Iowa State the weekend of June 11.

On July 2 Iowa State also recieved commitment from three-star safety from Jeremiah Cooper via twitter.

The 6-foot, 170-pound prospect chose Iowa State over offers from Arizona, Baylor, Syracuse, Texas Tech, Wake Forest and Yale, among many others.

Cooper is the No. 52-ranked safety and the No. 155-ranked prospect in Texas in the class of 2022 per the 247Sports.

The Cyclones now have 11 commitments in their 2022 recruiting class, with Keller coming in as the highest rated at this point. The class is currently ranked as the No. 39 group of pledges in the country and No. 5 class in the Big 12.
