RECRUITING: Cyclones land Arizona tailback

For the second time in the last four days, Iowa State has added a running back to its 2022 recruiting class.

The Cyclones landed a commitment from Arizona three-star tailback Quaron Adams on Wednesday, joining Tampa, Fla. product Xavier Townsend as running backs in this class.

Adams, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, is considered the No. 645 player in the country, No. 56 running back and No. 9 prospect in Arizona by 247Composite. He visited Ames back in mid-June and chose the Cyclones over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Hawaii, Cal, Kansas, New Mexico and Oregon.

Iowa State’s class, which was ranked No. 23 in the country by 247 entering Wednesday with 17 commitments, should jump ahead of Baylor and West Virginia with the addition of Adams, giving the Cyclones the No. 21 class in the country and No. 3 recruiting class in the Big 12 behind only Texas and Oklahoma.
