Times sure do change.
Iowa State has played a lot of programs during its 125 years of playing football, but many of the opponents have been largely unchanged since the creation of the Big Six conference in 1928.
One team the Cyclones did their fair share of battles with was Grinnell College. Iowa State leads the series between the two programs 20-10-3 with the last game between the two coming in 1934.
Iowa State won that game 26-6 on its way to a 5-3-1 season that was highlighted by a 31-6 win over Iowa. The 1934 game was the culmination of an annual series of the then-Missouri Valley Conference rivals.
Grinnell moved to the Midwest Conference for the 1935 season, which it still plays in today, ending the annual series between the two teams.
