Iowa State has landed a commitment from three-star Texas wide receiver Carson Schleker. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound pass catcher announced his pledge on his Twitter account on Monday.

Schleker is rated as the No. 222 wide receiver in the country by 247Composite. He’s the No. 1,447 player in the country and No. 173 prospect in Texas.

The Allen, Texas native chose Iowa State over offers from Wisconsin, Washington, Utah, Minnesota, Kansas, Arizona and a handful of other FBS programs. He caught 51 passes for 855 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.

He’s the second wide receiver from Texas to commit to Iowa State for the 2018 class, joining Sterling Galban. The Cyclones now have 12 commits in their 2018 class.
