Cyclone Fanatic is counting down the days until Iowa State’s season opener against Northern Iowa by bringing you a stat, former Cyclone moment or any other random tidbits every morning to help countdown the days.
No. 12- The Cyclones were picked off 12 times last season.
The quarterback performance last season for Iowa State was not the greatest, to state the obvious. And that was shown as the Cyclones played two signal callers last year.
In 2015, the Cyclone quarterbacks threw a combined total of 12 interceptions – an average of one turnover per game. Iowa State opponents returned those 12 picks for 203 yards and a touchdown.
During the offseason, the new ISU coaching staff has been stressing about how they need to win the turnover battle to be effective in 2016. If the Cyclones want any chance to win the turnover battle this upcoming year, the ISU quarterbacks will need to cut down on interceptions.
