With only two days between Matt Campbell’s coaching staff and signing day they pulled off another huge recruiting coup. On Monday night, four-star athlete Deshaunte Jones tweeted his commitment to Iowa State.
Jones is projected as a wide receiver at the next level and is rated as the No. 57 wide receiver in the class of 2016 by Scout.com. 247 has him rated as a three-star and the No. 45 athlete in the class.
The Cincinnati native’s 247 profile has him listed with 12 other offers from schools such as West Virginia, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech and Toledo. He also had an offer from Louisville and his lead recruiter was listed as former Iowa State offensive line coach Chris Klenakis.
Jones is the 24th commit in Iowa State’s class of 2016, and the second prospect with a four-star rating.
