McKay named CCL MVP; wins title

Two Cyclones who have yet to see the floor in an Iowa State uniform brought home a YMCA Capital City League championship on Sunday night.

Jameel McKay led the YMCA with 34 points and 18 rebounds as his team edged ADIO Chiropractic 111-106 in the championship game. Along side McKay, his teammate Hallice Cooke scored 18 points on 10 assists and eight rebounds.

Matt Thomas led the way for ADIO with 27 points. Monte Morris chipped in with 22.

McKay, a Marquette transfer, was named the YMCA Capital City League’s MVP as well.
