Blum, Rosenfels to call Texas game on Cyclones.tv

The following is a press release courtesy of Iowa State athletics communications.

AMES, Iowa –The Iowa State Athletics Department and its multimedia rights holder Learfield Sports’ Cyclone Sports Properties announced today its broadcast team for the Cyclones.tv production of the Iowa State-Texas game, Oct. 18 in Austin, Texas.

Former Iowa State quarterback Sage Rosenfels will be the color analyst and Brent Blum will take care of play-by-play duties for the broadcast.

Rosenfels was a two-year starter at quarterback for the Cyclones (1999 and 2000), leading the Cyclones to their first bowl win in school history with a 37-29 victory over Pittsburgh in the 2000 Insight.com Bowl. Rosenfels was named offensive player game behind a 308-yard passing performance, an ISU bowl record which still stands today.

Rosenfels later went onto a 12-year NFL career where he played for the Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texas, Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants.

Blum, a 2007 Iowa State graduate, has spent the last four years as the engineer/host/producer of the Cyclone Radio Network football broadcasts. He’s also filled in for Rich Fellingham as the radio play-by-play voice of the ISU women’s basketball team since 2006.

Blum also has experience as the TV talent for many Mediacom broadcasts and spent the 2008-09 season as the radio sideline reporter for the NBA’s Orlando Magic.

Iowa State’s Cyclone Radio Network crew of John Walters (play-by-play), Eric Heft (color) and Ben Bruns (sideline) will remain the same for the ISU-UT game.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.
