AMES — Oklahoma handed Iowa State its first loss of the season back on Jan. 11 in Norman, but the Cyclones avenged that defeat on Saturday via a 81-75 victory over the Sooners.
Iowa State’s frontcourt was dominant. Georges Niang led the way with a career-high 27 points in the victory. Meanwhile, Melvin Ejim had 22 points and 16 rebounds. Freshmen Matt Thomas and Monte Morris scored 13 and 12 points respectively.
Buddy Hield led the way for the Sooners with 30 points while going 5-for-8 from 3-point range.
Iowa State now has a quick turnaround as the Cyclones will travel to Stillwater for a Big Monday date with Oklahoma State in two nights at 8:30 on ESPN.
