Iowa State picked up its eighth football commitment for its 2014 recruiting class on Monday. 

247 Sports was first to report that Reggan Northrup, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety out of First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Fla., chose Iowa State over the likes of North Carolina, Rutgers and several non-BCS programs according to his profile at Rivals.com

Northrup is the third known defensive back in Iowa State’s 2014 class.
