Iowa State’s football program has released its updated depth chart for this weekend’s road date with the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Notes

– This week’s depth chart is nearly identical to what we saw last Monday. Really, the only change inserts David Sims back into the lineup at the strong safety position. Interestingly enough, Sims is listed as a co-starter with senior Zac Sandvig, who had an interception last Thursday night against Northern Illinois. Still, I find it hard to believe that the Big 12’s reigning Defensive Newcomer of the Year won’t take the majority of snaps at that position in Iowa City. Now having said that, Sandvig serves an important role on this defense. He’s smart and I’m sure he’ll still be used frequently, even with Sims being back in the mix.

– It appears that Paul Rhoads still hasn’t made a decision on who Iowa State’s starting punter will be on Saturday. That’s no surprise. True freshman Kirby Van Der Kamp and redshirt senior Daniel Kuehl are currently listed as co-starters.
