Iowa State head football coach Paul Rhoads met with members of the local media today in the Jacobson Building in Ames.
Here are a few notes from what went down. We’ll have more coverage of today’s press conference later on today here at CycloneFanatic.com.
– Rhoads began the conference by announcing that he does plan on Austen Arnaud, Alexander Robinson and Reggie Stephens all playing on Saturday against Oklahoma State.
– On the Stephens front, Rhoads said that him playing will all have to do with his pain tolerance. Rhoads said that doctors have assured his staff that the injury will not get any worse by playing. Stephens underwent and appendectomy last week and missed Saturday’s game with Texas A&M.
– Rhoads said that Austen Arnaud was “close to full strength but the velocity wasn’t there” on Saturday. Arnaud later told me in an interview that he could have played and was ready when Jerome Tiller briefly got knocked out of the game.
– Bo Williams is officially the number two running back on Iowa State’s depth chart. Rhoads said that he still needs to working on being a more complete running back.
