Dang. I remember the first time Parco beat Degen while he was at Fresno State and thinking that was match Degen never should have lost. Here we are a couple years later and Parco is beating Mauller while being ranked #3 at 149.
Mauller hasn’t gotten close to where I thought he would. Him masquerading as a 57 before an injury didn’t help him. He’s really plateaued in his wrestling.

Is there a team more consistently injured than the sqwaks? Year over year their guys are broken and missing time for injuries. If they are missing Lee, Woods, Brands and Swafford they are screwed and cyclones will thump them.
Haven't seen Ayala this year. Is he injured too, or maybe RS?
Teske has only wrestled once in four duals.

Ayala is redshirting this year. I think he is still recovering from his shoulder injury at the end of last season

So they don't have any strong candidates at 125 other than Lee.

I can't remember (in recent years) when we were so consistently strong in the rankings (and, implied, as a team). Things are looking up.

Dresser had built the program up the right way. Some elite high end recruits and lots of tough under the radar (or not even on anyone’s radar) kids.

And only one (two if you count sam) of those top 10 guys won’t be back next year. This beast is still rising. It’s gonna be a fun next couple years. They are going to beat the living hell out of some people.

WIN has us 7 points behind Missouri for 3rd, so a potential Bastida v Elam final would be huge for team rankings, they also have us with 5 AAs if I'm reading it right

I follow ISU wrestling but not college wrestling in detail, 2 questions:

1)Carr at #3, seem about right or no? I’m surprised but I don’t know how strong the weight is.

2) in another thread I saw A. Ferrior (sp, I’m assuming younger brother of the 97 lber formerly at OSU?) listed ISU in final 5. Is he a priority for isu? If he has the mental baggage of his brother, I’m surprised Dresser is recruiting him.

Go State!

1) 165 is the toughest weight in the country this year, it's got 3 national champs in #1 Keegan O'Toole, #2 Shane Griffith and Iowa State's own #3 David Carr. And with Carr moving up from 157 he is given the lower ranking because he moved up a weight class.

2) Angelo Ferrari yes, he's the #1 ranked recruit in the 2024 class, and I'll leave the rest to @Tigerguy_ or @buf87

1) Carr at #3 for now is fair. O'Toole from Mizzou is the defending national champ and ranked 1st. Griffith from Stanford is ranked 2nd and was the national champ at 165 2 years ago, then runner up last year to O'Toole. So, Carr bumping up a weight and slotting in at 3 is the right spot. Good news is he will probably get at least 2 chances at O'Toole before NCAAs in March.

2) Don't judge a kid based off what his brother does. From what I've heard he is a good kid and definitely a priority for the staff.

Paniro at 8 doesn’t seem accurate just based off results from this year at 149. I’m guessing the other ranking platforms will have him higher.

Elam vs Yonger, Carr vs O'Toole on Saturday night in March? The dual is going to be really fun to watch just looking at potential matchups. Kysen vs Surtin at 125, Swiderski vs Hart at 141, Paniro vs Mauller at 149, Carr vs O'Toole, Yonger vs Elam, Schuyler vs Big Elam
