DUMB QUESTION ALERT - this is just for fun, it's supposed to be two terrible options, like the game I'm sure you all played when you were a kid!
Would you rather:
-Go 0-12 this year and Iowa goes, say 12-1 and wins the Big Ten. But the fact that they played an 0-12 team OOC is enough to put Iowa at #5 in the rankings and lock them out of the CFP.
OR
-We turn things around somehow and finish 6-6, making a bowl game. But now the slight boost to 12-1 Iowa's SOS is enough to get them to #4 and into the playoffs.
IF you choose option #2, what if we add the wrinkle that you know Iowa would somehow win the CFP. Would that be enough to change to option #1?
Honestly, I would go with option #2 at first, but if I knew it meant Iowa was going to win the national championship, damn, I don't think I could deal with that, I might have to switch to #1.
