Do you think KF will make it to coach in the 2008 season after the recent player problems?

Will KF be iowa's coach in 2008? yes, unless something totally unknown pops up. But he won't get canned for the plethora of off the field problems of his players.

PS - I love it when some idiot starts with a Q in the thread title and then asks a Q opposite of it in the body...(just playing with ya LGS, cuz I am an idiot who has done it b4.)

The dude just got a 1 yr extension and is now sipping cocktails with his boss on some fat cruise ship. He's not going anywhere this season and that's fine by me. I can't wait to hear him and his team get booed off the field when we lay the wood to them this coming September.

And, yes SoHawk, I do believe we will lay the wood.....

I hate to see any coach with a 3-6 record against us get fired.

And I don't believe he's in jeopardy now....but more criminal charges could change things. After Iowa goes 4-8 or 5-7 next year, he's on the hot seat for sure. But I'm not sure he really cares...he's got a 5 year contract at $3 million per year, so what are they gonna do? They were doubting they could come up with $2 million to buy out Alford, how would they come up with $15 million to buy out Kirk?

So far there are two people that think he will be fired. Please explain to me why you think this is. He was just awarded a one year extension. I know the terms of the contract haven't changed, but still....

They could offer him free housing for life instead of the buyout, but I guess he's already used to that so doubt he would be down with that........:biglaugh:

wish the media would pick them to win the big 10 this year, while giving them a high pre season ranking. ive never felt better in my life than in 2005 when iowa was 8th in the nation and watching them get beat down at jack trice 23-3

When does the NCAA step in to this problem at Iowa City?? I don't know if they can or if they will, but something needs to be done, because that place is getting corrupt and he's got things out of control over there.

I'm still working out the kinks, but I feel I have a good start on how to properly compensate KF on an incentive basis:

(Base salary)+(Endorsements)-$250,000(number of felony charges by players)-$50,000(number of misdemeanors by players)-$1,000,000(number of losses on Senior Day with a bowl game riding on it where his own players get booed)

He's not going anywhere for quite some time.

Unlike some people, reasonable fans will agree that calling for the staff's firing would be very stupid.

While I agree with you, it is getting a little LESS stupid with each passing day.

While that may be, I think we need to wait to see how he handles things this year. Last year was bad, but the guy needs time for adjustments. So far, it sounds like he's making them (Cleveland and Nelson have been indefinitely suspended).

It's ludicrous for people to turn on a guy after in his previous 8 years he lead a very clean and respectable program.

Don't forget a bonus for getting beaten by D-II schools the last game of the season, bonus.
