A top 50 recruit in basketball is not even close to the same as a top 50 recruit in football.
No crap. Waggoner is borderline top 400 in football and not even a four star.

What exactly is Fran's style of play?

So you consider Gesell a big recruit but Waggoner isn't? Interesting
I find that really hard to believe. Woodbury was a top recruit and ISU would have taken him if he wanted to be a Cyclone.
Gessell wasn't as big as Woodbury, but still a top 100 player.
Didn't Woodbury wear a Iowa shirt to his ISU visit?I know for a fact Fred didnt want him.

Yes took off his coat and had one on. Fred didnt talk to him at all and he was gone in 15 minutes. What a douchebag. Why bother going on a visit
Yep. And from what I've heard, it was the end of the visit. Then Fred and Georges proceeded to own basketball in the state of Iowa for 4 years. Can't believe we were ever seriously recruiting him.Didn't Woodbury wear a Iowa shirt to his ISU visit?
So ISU at least had some interest to bring him in for a visit.

Given the huge population growth in the des moines MSA the last 20 yrs, you'd think there'd be a few more DI prospects in central iowa that are cyclone kids.
Cedar Rapids/Eastern Iowa/Iowa Barnstormers produce so much more talent.
That's what's interesting to me. Where's the bball talent in central iowa?
Again, this is hindsight. Gessel and Woodbury were big recruits that just about any D1 program would have taken.
