Watching this womens basketball game got me wondering, why don't the men ever have any whiteouts? It looks really sweet on tv, and I can only imagine how intesne it would be if they had a white out for the men.

Because I'm my own person and don't need someone telling me how to dress.:jimlad:

I'd rather stick to Gold outs and Cardinal outs. Gold outs look pretty good on TV too. Other than that, every single game should be a cardinal out.

well we had the pink out vs Texas a few years ago. That was an OT loss.

Id like to see the towels come out for a BBall game. Now that would look sweet!!!

I was very impressed at the OSU game this year how much energy was at Jack Trice Stadium that night.

I'm all for bringing back everything about that OSU fb game atmosphere (w/o the OSU women's coaches tragedy of course.) Cyclone Nation was just electric and the gold towels were $. It'd be nice to see 14,000 of those things flying around in Hilton. A gold out game with gold towels and gold jerseys would be...you guessed it: GOLD!

I'm hoping people make more of an effort to wear gold than normal on Saturday. It would look great if everyone did for once. Don't have much faith that they will, though.

They do things like white outs to bribe people to go to women's games. The first 4000 got the white shirt. There isn't any real extra incentive needed to go to men's games and you would need a ton more than 4000 shirts.

You realize ISU WBB averages around 9,300 fans per game, right? They had 11,600 for the A&M game and probably had a similar number today.

Also, I believe the shirts were placed on the seats in the lower section, which are pretty much all season ticket seats.

You obviously don't go to WBB games and don't know much about it. They don't need to bribe ISU fans to attend ISU is always top 5 in the nation.

There was no first 4,000 get shirts. They placed them in the sections where season ticket holders generally sit.

Also WBB needs way more than 4,000 also. WBB is a lot closer to MBB in attendance than you think.

Back to the original question, ISU WBB had a sponsor pay for most (all?) of the cost of the t-shirts. If ISU MBB wanted to do it, they'd probably need to get a sponsor to pay for it. I imagine that probably wouldn't be too hard to find.

I believe announced attendance at the women's game today was right around 12,000 which is only about 1,000-2,000 more than average.

You're right on the money, maybe they HANDED OUT shirts THAT WAY 15 yrs AGO but the answer from RABBUCK shows who actually goes to the women's games and knows what is going on rather than just talking about it on the computer.

The excitement is too much for me. So many layups and jumpshots.

When was the last time you watched a game? Today's game was one of the most physical that I have seen in awhile. They also play up tempo, this isn't high school.

No it's not a men's game with high flying dunks but it some ways the women are better fundamentally and it's still basketball and it's still Iowa State.
