DiBlasi leads the nation in pins currently (or at least he did before last night's duals, not sure if anybody tied him yesterday)

Thanks, jkbuff98, for setting the record straight. DiBlasi went to nationals. I missed that.

Actually DiBlasi did get in to NCAA's and went 0-2 at 165

Ethan Smith went 2-2 at 174.

Granted, several years left for some of these guys, but in hindsight not a whole lot of talent truly left. I think we are much better off with the boys we have in the room right now and the ones coming in.

We have had a group of very good commits and guys on the team who departed at least in part due to the coaching change. I think it is good form for us to root for their success, and good for the program overall for them to succeed. It’s still early to make comparisons of what might have been vs what is. ( I admittedly thought it looked pretty bleak at the time of each departure). But two years on from the Dresser hire, based on actual results, I think the comparison actually shades toward how our current guys have performed. I’m sure I am leaving out some, but here is a rough comparison of 141-184 ( the best I can do for an apples to apples comparison).

What left: Storr, Verkleeran, De Blasi, Allar, Ethan Smith.

What we kept/added in the same weight range: Parker, Anderson, Degen, Carr, Straw, Coleman and Colbray.

And I think it looks even better when we fold in Gomez.

Like I said, I’m sure I am leaving some out, but I believe this is more evidence of how well our staff has recruited AND coached up our guys.
