At least this article actually gets why Fred loves Ames...most don't. Most of these writers can't fathom why someone would like a town like Ames...

All I know is that he will be next year and I'd be shocked if he left when Niang's a senior. That's good enough for me right now.

Ames is 60,000? I wish they wouldn't count the student population as it drastically inflates the town size.

Months with students in town: September through April = 8
Months with only some students in town: Part of May through most of August = less than 4

Counting students seems pretty reasonable to me.

Every city with a college, community college, university counts students in the population. Not sure why the guy's 1 complaint was that.
