What to do with 18mo Old During Winter Break?

Hi Fanatics-

We're going to be visiting Des Moines and Ames from out of state for the week between Xmas and New Year's. Any ideas for things to do with an 18mo while we're in town? Days will be pretty long if we're just hanging out at my Mom's house all day for a week.

Tough age to do adult stuff. My youngest is now 4 and my wife and I are just getting back to the stage where we can get a sitter and feel comfortable going out for a long night on the town. That's okay though. The kids are a lot fun when they're little and those days will pass fast enough.
