So what is Twitter? Would someone inform me? I heard people talking about it and wondered what it is and if its fun.

It's basically a site for people who have a need to constantly update the rest of the world what they're doing every minute of the day. Kind of like Facebook status updates, but more detailed. See with Facebook you can update your status to let everyone know you're going to go take a dump, but with Twitter you can let everyone know in real time how the dump is going.

Wait a sec, aren't you a teenager? I thought teenagers were supposed to know this kind of stuff, and clue the old people in...

Other than some interesting links that I get from time to time, it's pretty freaking boring. And to "update" the world, you have only so many characters, which means you can't say anything of substance in one post. For instance, about half of this post would fit.

Hasn't college taught you not to use wikipedia as as source? It has absolutely zero accuracy and its all lies. Its not possible for it to have good info ever. :jimlad:

    Haha, that's great.

...but seriously, Twitter is just a micro-blogging service. I personally really enjoy it, plus my updates go to a block on my personal blog/website. I enjoy following my friends on it as well, as most things that people post there are not worth calling about.

Much, much better than Facebook at this point, imho. Different experience, but if I had to choose it wouldn't even be close.

twitter is for people who's lives aren't very interesting so they bask in the glory of other people to make themselves feel important.

I'm following some people that actually provide interesting info... the Cubs beat writer for the Chicago Sun Times (@cst_cubs), Sean Keeler (@SeanKeeler), and Keith Murphy (@keithmurphy13)

I use Twitter now for breaking news. More often than not, it shows up there before it's on any sort of news website. It was where I first hear the Cael news (even before Ch. 13 had it). I follow lots of sports related writers and have met more than 100 people in the area because of it. I thought at first it was a waste of time as well, but after you get past the people talking about "taking dumps," you find that it's actually a very powerful and beneficial tool.

Agreed! Twitter at first seems like Facebook status update, but it is MUCH more than that. Dig deep into it and you really have a quicker way to receive incoming information.

Hit me up on Twitter: jpete24

I agree. I would assume that if you are following some of the NFL draft prospects, you may even know who's drafting them before the NFL announces it on tv...
