To be fair, there is a variety of reasons hawk fans don’t have teeth.

Lost them in a series of bar fights?
Lost them due to drinking a gallon of sugary soda everyday out of jumbo cups from fav quick shop?
Took the advisory comment "Less teeth" literally and had them pulled?

Took at vantage of the $50 payment to have dental students practice pulling teeth. Easy couple hundred bucks.

funny how a year like 2020 has a positive of exposing how iffy these rankings really are (I'm including the ESPN FPI too). it's not just that they are unconnected "intraconference" data sets, it's that we see now how much of the underlying ranking is really depending on last year and at least in some cases "prestige" -- and it's way too much (unless this was already widely known). we all know how fluky non-con matchups can be anyway, so if that's the only piece missing, then i think that means these rankings really aren't very good even in the ideal year.

Most seasons Sagarin ranking get better as the season goes on longer. But there is no way in hell its going to be real accurate this year, even at the end. Just not going to be enough data points with little to no crossover games, and everything played in conference by most of the leagues.

This. It's a just one comparative tool to check out but just isn't going to work this season as a meaningful reference.

Can anyone explain how the two predictor tables work?

Not sure which two you're referring to. The way I read it, if you take the difference in the PREDICTOR values and factor in the home team (he is definitely discounting the latter due to limited fan attendance), Sagarin says this is a good predictor of the difference in final score. The RATING difference isn't quite the same, I think because a while back Sagarin was used for playoff rankings, and he wasn't supposed to factor in point differentials in games played (the committee was trying to minimize running up the score in games).
