What does our DL situation look like next year?

I was looking at our commit list and we only have one DL recruit committed this year.

In watching his videos, I could easily see Jensen moving/growing into an OL.

I'm wondering if that says something about the young guys that we currently have, or if we've just struck out at DL this year.

I'm sure Paul would agree that we need to upgrade our DL talent if we want to play good defense going forward. That's kind of a no-brainer.

We did stock up at OL, which I think is great. I think our program has to start with good players up front on both sides of the ball. Building a team similar to how Ferentz has built Iowa, is probably a blue print for success, in the midwest.

Are there videos of Jensen that are not on rivals?

Hopefully Jake Mac will be ready to go next year. It was nice to see him get his feet wet a little bit this year.

Willie Scott and Roosevelt Maggit have great careers ahead of them.

Rump, Bailey Johnson, Alburtis will all be alright in the middle.

I think it's safe to say that we have missed some of our DL targets. However, the staff has said in the past that they are happy with the young players they have at the interior positions. The one area of need on the DL, defensive end, they shored up as best they could with a juco. The return of Parker also helps.

I think it's also safe to say that DE recruiting should and will be a priority next year. If we get Kirksey and if Jensen stays at DT, recruiting to the interior spots won't be as critical next year, IMO. Still, you'd like to get at least two high school DTs every year.
